The American Red Cross (ARC) Babysitter Training is designed for 11 to 15-year-olds who are interested in becoming certified as an American Red Cross Babysitter. The training provides youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. The ARC Babysitter Training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave; learn about basic child care and basic first aid.
Learning Objectives:
*How to care for infants and children
*What to do in an emergency and how to stay safe
*Choosing activities that are age-appropriate
*Recognizing, understanding and handling certain behaviors
*Starting your babysitting business
An American Red Cross certificate will be issued to each student upon successful completion of the course. Duration of Class is 6 hours. Participants should bring a lunch, snack and drink for the day. Please no tree nut or peanut products.
